Rail Level Crossings
|
SafeZone is an extraordinarily cost-effective means of heightening driver awareness at locations where there are no other warning systems, or where there are only wigwags at the crossing itself. It also serves to heighten awarenss in locations where the crossing is not easily seen on approach, where terrain, vegetation or other structures obscure it. By heightening awareness, SafeZone allows drivers adequate time to slow and stop. A combination of Active Advance Warning Signs (flashing road-side signs on the approaches to the crossing), In-Road Alert Devices (flashing in-pavement beacons) and other systems such as train detection devices and crossing signs (eg where there are no flashing wigwags at the track itself) can be easily deployed, even in locations where there is no access to 240VAC power and no other train detection system.
